Description: The activity was aimed at AI and tech experts, business owners, trainers (learning and development), employees (including the target audience for the course to be developed) and the general public. A total of 38 participants, including 31 attendees from outside the strategic partnership, have taken part in the multiplier event. The audience was composed of a diverse group of professionals working in different fields. Prof. Alexiei Dingli, professor of AI, together with Ms Rachel Falzon (ReWired HR), gave an extended presentation on the role of AI in tackling global challenges and delivering considerable benefits to the labour market whilst also creating new challenges and questions, including privacy, governance and research.
Event Name: The Reskilling Revolution in the Artificial Intelligence Era

Description: The multiplier event was aimed at disseminating the work being done on the project. A total of 46 participants, including 34 attendees from outside the strategic partnership, have taken part in the multiplier event. The international audience (with participants from Austria, China, Slovenia and the Philippines, amongst others) was composed of a diverse group of professionals working in different fields, including Innovation Technicians, Professional Development Portfolio Managers and Educational Scientists. Speakers included leading experts from the field of Artificial Intelligence who have shared their knowledge and expertise with the attendees. During the main address, Ms Michelle Devlin, Head of School of Health, Early Years and Adult Education at SERC, emphasised the need to understand that AI is already impacting our daily lives from a simple ‘Google’ search, logging on to our online banking account or using smart home devices.

Description: The goal of this meeting was to discuss the status quo of the work on Intellectual Output 1. The analysis of data resulting from the survey, undertaken as part of the needs analysis, was presented to the partnership. The way forward in terms of the definition of the learning objectives for the online course, based on the training goals and learner persona, was discussed.
Event Name: Habilidades Digitales para la Revolución de la Inteligencia Artificial

Description: The event supported sharing and dissemination of the project outcomes and upcoming intellectual outputs by first and foremost introducing the project in terms of scope and key goals, together with the expected and already achieved outcomes. The activity presented the work pertaining to the design and development of the online course, resulting from the first wave of iterations, for further feedback and input from the attendees. The multiplier event also served as a kick-off campaign for enrollment on the developed course (hence the piloting and evaluation).
The speakers for the event included Mr Alberto Rodrigo Roselló from the Valencia Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Shipping, who gave a run-through of the design and development process behind the DS4AIR online course. He also presented the 8 broad themes covered in the course.
Event Name: DS4AIR Joint Staff Training Event

Description:The three-day training event (and two days allocated for travel) was held on the 17th, 18th and 19th May 2022 and was organised and hosted by the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry in Malta. The goal of the activity was to train the representatives from the different participating organisations in using and administering the course through a series of hands-on workshops. Amongst others, participants discussed the individual 8 chapters making up the course for further feedback. Furthermore, sessions on how to use the platform (and the underlying learning management system), the branding of the courses (including images and banners), and the chatbot were conducted for reflection and further feedback. A special session entitled “Corporate Training for the Digital Age” aimed at AI/tech experts, business owners, trainers (learning and development), employees (including the target audience for the course to be developed) and the general public was scheduled as part of the LTT. A total of 15 participants attended this session. Apart from the dissemination of the initial project results, this session sought further feedback from participants (especially those beyond the consortium) regarding the first wave of iterations of the online training course. Finally, through a train-the-trainer model, it is expected that the participants from the partner organisations who attended the LTT will, in turn, train their colleagues back at their home organisations in order to widen and disseminate the project result(s).
Event Name: Digital Skills for the AI Revolution: The Way Forward

Description: The event commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Chris Vassallo Cesareo, the President of The Malta Chamber, setting the tone for the day. This was followed by an address by Hon. Minister Silvio Schembri, who shed light on the synergy between the required upskilling and the ongoing digital transformation. Prof. Alexiei Dingli, a renowned expert in AI and consultant at B&P EmTeC Lab delved deep into the DS4AIR project, explaining its significance and the pivotal role it plays in equipping individuals with the necessary digital skills for the AI revolution. A real-world testimonial of the learning experience on the digitalskills.ai platform was shared by Mr. Christopher Saliba, providing attendees with a tangible understanding of the platform’s impact. Mr Schembri explained how through the course, individuals can build their own digital skills profile which will aid in identifying potential growth and development opportunities in the job market. The panel discussion that followed brought together a diverse group of experts from academia, industry, and governance. They engaged in an interactive conversation on the future of digital skills, the impending AI revolution, and the broader implications for society and the economy. The Q&A session, led by Dr. Daniela Grech, provided an interactive platform for attendees to seek clarifications, share their insights, and discuss the the DS4AIR initiative. Bernard Montebello’s presentation on the European Digital Innovation Hub further emphasised the European perspective on digital innovation and its significance, especially in the realm of digital transformation brought about by AI. Diana Miceli, The Malta Chamber project manager for the DS4AIR project, wrapped up the event, reiterating the project’s objectives and its overarching goal of fostering a digitally skilled workforce ready to embrace the AI revolution. The event successfully reached its target audience, which included educators, policymakers, tech enthusiasts, and business leaders, fostering a collaborative environment for knowledge sharing and networking. The outcome was a heightened awareness of the DS4AIR project’s contributions and a collective understanding of the importance of digital skills in today’s AI-driven world. The overall event was an opportunity for project dissemination, exploitation and networking.
